Three o clock this morning my telephone rang. Anyone who has ever received a call at 3am in the morning knows that it is never good news. Hesitantly, I answered the telephone.  It was one of my best friends calling me to tell me that she was about to be admitted into the intensive care unit. I was speechless. I did not even know what to say. It was such a jolt to my system because when she woke up that morning, I am sure that she did not expect the day to end with her having a near death experienced, being rushed to the hospital and admitted in intensive care.

Life is so fleeting; at any moment one simple thing can change the course and direction of our lives forever. We have to grasp every moment, live life to its fullness and stop to appreciate the little things. Because in one moment, that which we take for granted could be so easily taken from us.
